A new driver appeared on the list of conforming clubs from Cleveland.  This “black” model by Cleveland features a weighted screw in the lower back of the driver, which appears to be replaceable.  This would be the first moveable weight technology for driver’s we’ve seen from Cleveland, if I’m not mistaken. This particular model is 460CC and was tested (and approved) in 7.5, 9.0 and 11.0 degrees.  Check out the picture below.

Update: Cleveland posts a color photo and some news from this driver.  Here’s what they have to say:

  • We have taken weight out of the drivers face to increase the “trampoline” effect on off-center hits.
  • This driver features a Speed Crown Design, which is a teardrop shaped head designed to increase distance.
  • The CG Black Driver weighs in at 265 grams, making it the lightest driver on the market.
