Hello everyone… hope you all had a nice weekend. It was a good weekend just to sit at home and watch golf. Kenny Perry got TaylorMade a win.. something they don’t have many of this year. Freddy Couples dropped an “F Bomb” on national television too. I thought it was funny… he probably didn’t at the time.
SirPuttsAlot has a new Rant for us. This one focuses on the big appearance fee debate. This has been a cause for discussion lately after a letter from IMG was leaked. The letter categorized certain players into appearance fee tiers. I am with SirPuttsAlot on this one… who cares if guys get paid to play in certain events. That’s their job.
So there were a few big “releases” today. Callaway unveiled their new X-Tour iron and Titleist officially released the 905 drivers. Not really news for our readers but I thought I would pass it along anyways. The Titleist 905 driver will begin shipping within the next two weeks (I know we get our first shipment April 1st) and the X-Tour irons will begin shipping on April 15th. www.callawaygolf.com also has information on the we I-Trax putter too.
Speaking of the X-Tour irons… Annika Sorenstam used Callaway X-Tour irons and the Callaway Fusion prototype driver in her win this weekend. Kenny Perry had some help from Callaway Golf too… he used an Odyssey Rossie putter.
Some TaylorMade news from the Bay Hill too. There were 3 TaylorMade R5 Dual Tour drivers in play and TaylorMade drivers filled the top 10. Todd Hamilton also replaced his trusty Sonartec Md with a TaylorMade V Steel fairway wood. Watch for the Adidas Tour Metal shoes worn by Sergio Garcia to be available in April too.
