Golf News And Rumors

Hi everyone, we've got some odds and ends from the golfing world to share with you today from our friend Scott Kramer.  Some of these tidbits we've shared further information on throughout or site, some, are news to even us.  Enjoy!

The long awaiting i20 line from Ping has finally been released to the public. To accompany the irons and driver, we also have pictures and details of the fairway woods and hybrids to share with you today.

The new i20 fairway woods had few things to improve upon compared to the i15's, if player feedback was any indication. Designers were able to move weight around to improve MOI, and reduce spin off impact. Once again, designed for better players, this new design is geared towards players looking to work the ball. This new design is available in 14, 15 and 17 degrees and features the TFC 707F or Project X Black shaft. MSRP $255.

The new hybrids, which are geared towards better players looking for more control over ball flight, trajectory and spin have a very low center of gravity aimed to help golfers get the ball airborne quickly with a soft landing. These new hybrids are available in 17, 20, 23 degrees, with TFC 707F and Project X Black shaft options. MSRP - $210.

Plenty of pics and details of both clubs below. Enjoy!

All jokes aside, I guess it was inevitable. TaylorMade is working on a RocketBallz golf ball. The USGA recently tested it, and it made the conforming list. The ball's markings were simple - < Rocketballz > on the seam and "TaylorMade with a white T" on the front. Unfortunately no pictures at this time - keep an eye out in near future for more details.

Hi all, thanks for stopping by - we hope you've got all your holiday shopping done! Below, we've got an item that likely isn't on your wish list yet, but maybe next year! Here is our first good look of the Adams Speedline Fast 12 line, which includes a driver and fairway woods. What stands out to me here is the driver shape - ugly, but likely helps drastically with MOI, and keeping off-center shots on-line. We'd love to hear your thoughts - share them in the comments below!

Rocketballz. You gotta hand it to TaylorMade's marketing team... they know how to create a buzz, but from the sounds of things, this new line could be called just about anything... it's performance is speaking for itself. As the videos we have later in this post will attest to - some pros are seeing a dramatic increase in distance - we're talking 17 yards here (for their 3 wood). That's the difference between hitting that par 5 in two, clearing the water - you name it. This new line is expected to be big. TaylorMade will even be splitting sponsorship between this new line and the R11S for tour players this year. It appears though, that the 3 wood of this new line is their real claim to fame, which is now maxed out on COR. We're excited to test this new line, and see if all the clubs can live up to they hype. TaylorMade rarely disappoints... Here's the details about the new line, and some videos on performance. Enjoy!
